Cheapest way to get to port in Tampa?

We are on a very tight budget for our cruise and need to find the most economical way to the port from the airport so we have more money to spend on drinks. [img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif[/img] Thanks for any tips.

I found this in my research for our trip out of Tampa in November, so haven't used them yet:

I believe they are a bit cheaper than the $20 taxi,
& I think they have a round trip rate as well.
Worth checking into.

Taxis will be cheaper than shuttles as you are not paying per head. We paid around $15 with tip to the port for four of us last January. Plenty of money left for our booze and you won't get cheaper than that unless walking!

I found after extensive research the the least expensive to the tampa port from airport is always a brisk walk.. LOL>. Just kidding in believe like the others have responded the best way is by taxi. But also check with shuttle services...

No one has ever mentioned this and it may sound crazy- actually as I write it it is crazy (because of carrying luggage and because this is America) but Tampa probably has some manner of local bus system that stops at the airport and the pier. I've never heard of anyone looking into it but if you were going pure budget that would definitely be cheaper than anything else. I've taken public buses like that in Europe many times but never here. Anyway something to think about- if you're crazy- LOL
