Dear_Maria Posted January 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2019 I have just logged on to my booking to add some on board credit and I have noticed Montego Bay has now changed on the time table to Ocho Rios. I have seen on a few post that this change in destination has been happening while other have still gone to Montego Bay. I had pre booked an excursion in Montego Bay (just my luck!) and I can't seem to get any additional info from the site of what will happen in regards to my pre booked excursion. carmenincalgary Posted January 25, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2019 I just logged in today and saw that on my May 13 cruise, that the stop had been switched - and kind of weirdly got an email about the change within about 10 minutes of me just randomly logging on to see when my last payment was due. I have not been contacted or refunded anything. We had booked an MSC excursion for Montego Bay... We weren't even informed there was a change. As it happened, the weather was bad and we had to miss the island altogether! I've sent emails directly to them, as well as filled out the information request forms online, and have never heard a peep for a reply... and I'm not one to spend hours on hold with them either. The website is still working out the kinks and that is why some of my pre paid items are not being shown. The internet package I pre paid is the old offer so will not show on the site, but IS on my ticket and will be honored (I will confirm this when I actually go and will let people know the outcome) and the itinerary charge/ new website is stopping my Montego Bay excursion showing up. I have been told, that I will still get to do the excursion. We will dock at Ocho Rios but will be transported to Montego bay to do the excursion (about a 1 hour & 30/40 min trip each way according to Google) So not 100% sure if this will happen (Ocho Rios arrival 10:30am departs at 17.00pm with my excursion advertised as 3hours & 30 mins, seems a bit tight with disembarking/ embarking) Edited January 29, 2019 by Dear_Maria Spelling Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My TA got involved as I was have not much luck and they got this response from MSC. Clients can re-book excursions at Ocho Rios instead – they’ve actually booked by themselves MTB12 (an excursion in Montego bay which now needs to be cancelled) They have also added an internet package – the itinerary change does not affect this item My TA is now trying to get a refund for me.... Also worth mentioning I cannot book any excursions for Ocho Rios on the website, it shows there is none. cruisingberger Posted February 6, 2019 #13 Share Posted February 6, 2019 This sounds completely frustrating! I have to say I feel like you may have dodged a bullet with Montego Bay. It took us over two hours to go just a few miles in Montego Bay in January due to a two lane highway and several ships in port. There were at least 3 excursions that got back late. Sorry to hear about all of the miscommunication from MSC. This is something they truly need to fix. We were in Ocho Rios years ago and it seemed much less busy and easier to get to and from the ship. Not appeared on my card yet, but I will keep my eyes out. They have also now added the Ocho Rios excursions. me and the soon to be DH have decided not to pick one. I have been hearing that Jamaica is proving to be one of the more problematic ports this time of year, with it often being missed completely due to high winds/ bad weather. We have decided to either have a wander around the port or book an excursion on the ship if we dock.
