They can fly kites on the fort grounds at Fort El  Morro. Bring your own or buy if there's a vendor selling.

 

If the government shutdown is over you can visit the forts. Boys love the forts!

 

They'll probably like riding the free trolley that goes through Old San Juan. Great way to see the city. The trolley goes by both forts.

 

They might like watching the pigeons in the various plazas.

I bought a pocket kite on Amazon- tiny little thing.  But it's great to have on the field.  And later I flew it in Aruba.
