Zip-lining in St. Maarten

Cast of characters:

Me (51 year old mom, under 4'11", reasonably fit)

Son (20 year old athlete, experienced in climbing and ropes courses)

About 40 or so other folks on Serenade of the seas - youngest appeared to be about 11 or 12, the oldest was older, and less fit than I am.

We did the Tree-top Adventure on St. Maarten (Loterie Farms) last week, and loved it! This a high ropes course, with 5 zip line elements, plus a bunch of other things like rope bridges, log bridges, and other elements. The course takes under an hour to do, the whole experience a little longer, given the orientation and the one-person-at-a-time nature of each element. It's a blast! It's not really physically challenging if you're reasonably fit. It doesn't require a lot of strength, but depends more on balance, stretching, agility, and a sense of adventure. Certain parts of the course are easier if you're a little taller than I am, but it's fun never-the-less, and will give you quite a sense of accomplishment. Everyone on our tour finished the course, and had a great time.

There's this dog that loves to play fetch and will bring back sticks - small and large, for anyone that will throw them to him.

If you're on RCI, the only way to do this tour is through the ship - they're contracted to the ship and won't take independent RCI cruisers. Plus, they're closed on Monday, and only take the tour group from Serenade. While we were waiting for our pick-up, 2 mini-van loads of people showed up and were turned away.
