Car rental in Halifax

...errrrrrrrmmmm - what's the context of the advice you seek re: car rentals? Where to go with the car? Who to rent from? Whether you should do it at all or stick to an organized tour of some kind? And while you're providing that info - your ship, visit date and how long your stop is could be potentially very relevant too for factoring in things like how many other vessels are in port the same day, if they dock before you or after you, e.g. will there already be eight thousand people on buses thronging a popular site like Peggy's Cove or could you be among the first visitors that day and see it before the hordes arrive?

We rented for the day at Dollar inside The Westin Nova Scotian.  It is a short walk.  If you do your research, you can go in the back door from their parking lot.  We had previously spent 10 days in Nova Scotia but missed the drive south of Peggys Cove.  Had a great time away from the crowds and easy return to get back to ship.
