First trip to Alaska, Aug.4-Aug 17, 2019

Princess Denali Explorer, Tour LB6

We tour first then cruise.

A couple of questions on excursions.

We were looking at taking a flight while at Mt. McKinley, either a summit flight or Glacier landing flight.

Would you still consider a helicopter or air flight while at a port.

Is there any big difference in the different glaciers to be seen.

I should add we are also considering taking the Hubbard Glacier tour  while in Hubbard Bay

Misty Fjords.... by boat or air ?

Thanks

What are YOU looking for out of your trip?    Are you interested in flying-  seeing the vastness and beauty from the air,  no objection to spending the funds?   Doesn't matter what I would do.    Every glacier is "different"  and will be "different" every time you go.   Glaciers are in a constant state of change.   :)    Again,  are YOU interested in glaciers,  want to see them?

There haven't been consistent reports of the add on Hubbard Glacier tour, running that I have heard of?

Again,  in Misty Fiords-  what is it you are looking for?   The boat/fly combo could be an excellent consideration for you?    I especially find the views from the air,  far superior of this terrain.   You can get much further in plus have views of the alpine lakes,  which you won't from a boat.

As far as the trip, we would  like to see as much as possible, even if its just for a short time, and do not want to repeat what we would see.

I traveled in the lower 48 alot in my young single days, wife has not been out of our state but a few times.

I would like her to see as much and different scenery as possible.

Money is always a concern, but for this trip we saved to splurge some.

I love flying, wife not so much, but she is a gamer and will go.

I was leaning that if we saw one glacier the next one would be similar, but guess I was wrong.

A Glacier is one thing we have never seen, so no clue if we will like them

The White pass rail we are eliminating and going on a trip to  the Yukon by bus up to Emerald Lake.

Reason being, we are on a train on the land part of our cruise, and neither of us are train bluffs.

Misty Fjords...I have only found a couple of boat tours, most tours are by plane and I have found no combo trips.

The added Hubbard Glacier tour,  correct, not many if any reviews that I can find.
