CruisinTXGal Posted April 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2004 Is it warm enough in the Caribbean to wear shorts and swim in October? Is it rainy? Tell me about your October cruising experiences! Thanks in advance! Elation, here we come again! 10/17/04 Elation 3/28/

dan40 Posted April 8, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2004 It will be beautiful. Temp in the 80's, lows in the 70's or high 60's. Less than 50% chance of rain and then likely only a short shower. Water will be warm and swimable. Oct. is still in hurricane season so there may be a hurricane or tropical storm threating somewhere in the area but the ship will know where it is and avoid it. We have cruised many times in Sep., Oct., and Nov. Never had a problem. Will be cruising in Sep. ourselves this year. [Aug. and Sep. are peak hurricane months.] Dan Till 9/5 Paradise Panama Canal

squeakybee Posted April 8, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2004 We cruised the Western Carribean in October. 6 out of 7 days were perfect. In Costa Maya we had a little bit of rain. No big deal though. 1tonysmom Posted April 8, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 8, 2004 Hi. We cruised on the Paradise in October 2000 and the weather was just gorgeous. Even as late as the beginning of December, it is warm enough to wear shorts during the day. You might want a light jacket or sweater if you plan on going up on deck at night, as it can get a little cool. This is still hurricane season, but the cruise ships will just change their itinerary to avoid the really bad weather. Happy Cruising.
