Car rental in Santiago

:) My husband and I will have 3 days in Santiago before departing on our cruise. We would like to rent a car and explore the wine country between Santiago and Santa Cruz where we will stay for 2 nights. Ideally we could pick up a prearranged rental car at the airport on arrival. Has anyone else done this? Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.
