Actually got my boyfriends. For those who haven't recieved one you might want to go to the carnival sight and sign in and review your account. We had not received one in the past until I went to the site and signed up again.

finally!!!

Madge57: I was just on the website and read that you get a 1 year's subscription when you sail with them. Platinum members are a 2 year subscription. Personally, I did not know there were "subscriptions" . I just knew that when we started sailing with Carnival...we started getting them.

My sister and I got ours yesterday, my brother is miffed because he has never gotten one. We automatically started getting them after our first cruise so I don't know why my brother doen't get his. I'll have him check the Carnival site. Thanks for the tip.

I have spent about 45 minutes on the phone with Carnival trying to book one of the past guest specials listed in the Currents Magazine I received today. After going through my top 5 choices I finally asked them "Are any of the past guest specials available that are advertised in the Currents Magazine". After a 10-15 minute wait the PVP returned and said NO. All of the past guest specials had been booked but I could receive a special rate of $819 for an oceanview for 7 days. It was advertised for $599. Thats what...A 55% increase in rates. I have only cruised Carnival no other companies. Five cruises in 4 years. I spend a thousand or so with them for wines, shore excursions, spa, drinks, photos, specialty restaurants, plus gamble several $$$ in the casinos and this is all above my cruise rate with them. My sign and sail has exceeded $2500 on some cruises. OK-I may not be a big cruiser or one of their favorites but this is where we split the sheets. They can keep their Currents magazine and their false advertising. Screw Carnival Cruise Lines and the ship they rode in on!!!

Sorry about having no luck with the past cruiser specials. It figures, right? Well, I had already booked through a TA and it was for a cruise listed. He checked and what it boiled down to was, I could upgrade 2 catagories for 100 dollars more! Boy, was I bummed! This will be our sixth cruise and third with Carnival, the least they could give me was a 2 catagory upgrade for being a past passenger, but no. What is really novice is that you have until March to book! Guess the people that got their currents late are out of luck too.

but they have an email address about any questions regarding the Currents Magazine.

It is currentsguestrelations@carnival.com. or you can call 1-800-CCL-GUEST. (1-800-225-4837)

Remember that they say you get a one year subscription after you sail with them and a 2 year if you are a Platinum member.

So if you just give them the date of your last sailing (and it is less than a year ago) you should be good to go! Be prepared, they may want old booking number or room number along with the date.

That's just wrong!!! In the small print they say "Space is subject to availability", so if there is space they should give it to you at the stated price, are they saying the ship is full? This offer is suppose to be good until 3/31/06!
