Clarabella_Baby Posted February 7, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2019 I have booked the Best Western Plus in San Pedro for a night before an upcoming cruise. I know it has a shuttle but has anyone walked to the pier from there? I really prefer to walk and have heard that the shuttle fills up. Is it safe and doable with a suitcase? I really like walking to the pier and do it often. Google maps says 20 minutes' walk. Thanks guys!
zencruisers Posted February 7, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2019 It is all downhill from the hotel. The area around the hotel can be a little sketchy but if you are with someone else you should be alright. From what I remember once you get a few blocks away from the hotel you are in more of an industrial area. I hope this helps.

I am a solo cruiser but have mastered the skill of walking with confidence and completely being aware of my surroundings. Downhill is good to hear. I think I'll attempt to walk. Thank you!

Is it safe and doable with a suitcase? 8-9 blocks. The first couple are known for the homeless and then you move through the projects before getting to the water front. If you were to do this before noon before some of the street people get active you should have no problem

I don't mind waiting at the terminal. And I deal with less desirable people around work often. Don't make eye contact and walk with purpose. lol Thank you for your help!
