wendyp247 Posted February 12, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2019 I'm new to NCl so please excuse if this has been asked before. We are schedule to dock on the return at Sunday 5 am. we have a 1 pm flight out of Gatwick. Are we safe to book the NCL transfer to Gatwick or should we book a private transfer to make sure we arrive in plenty of time to make our flight. NCL says you need to allow 6.5 hours from time of docking to make a flight at Gatwick, I've also read the shuttle doesn't leave until it's full, which could be 9 am. Zippeedee Posted February 12, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2019 When I called to book my transfer they counted from 9AM, my flight is at 5pm and I'll just make security if the line isn't too long. Your experience may be different but I would call them to be sure.
Rare ziggyuk Posted February 12, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2019 Its a very long way, Heathrow would have been better but I guess you are booked now. Train will be fastest, it's about 1hr 45m including a change at Clapham junction. A bus (National Express) would be direct and far less cost but takes about 2hr 45m I think I would favour the bus, although an hour longer being direct you just get on with nothing to worry about, wifi and charging etc is included. From the ship to the bus or railway stop is a short taxi or Uber ride, the bus and train stations are very close to each other. It's about a 1.5hr car journey, so NCL will b no more than 2 hours (mini bus?). I like to play safe and would want to be at Gatwick for 10AM for a 1PM flight, docking at 5AM, I'm not sure how early you can be off but by NCL or train I would want to leave Southampton by 8AM and bus by 7AM.
