PAFC2004 Posted February 13, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2019 Hi all, Does anyone know if Carnival charge a credit card fee for onboard transactions? Previously I've used debit cards on other lines, but I am looking to use a credit card this time. Also, as it is an American line, does anyone know if foreign transaction fees apply for those credit card which charge them? Or do they process payments in Australia. I'm cruising on the Spirit next month, which will be my first cruise with CCL. Thanks!
PAFC2004 Posted February 13, 2019 Author #2 Share Posted February 13, 2019 Edit: As Carnival charge in AUD, I would assume that there would be no foreign currency conversion fee, but confirmation would be greatly appreciated.
cruisin-m Posted February 13, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2019 Credit card fee applies, about 1.5% from memory on Carnval. The fee is waived if you choose to pay by a debit card though so if you have that option it is best 👍. I didnt get any overseas fees and I’m with ANZ. Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted February 13, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2019 Credit card charges are processed in Australia for Aussie-based Carnival, P&O and Princess cruises, so no foreign transaction fees for any of those.
