Comfort Suites, SW 19th Ct,Dania Beach

We have booked this hotel for one night prior to our cruise out of Port Everglades.  Does anyone here know of any stores nearby to purchase wine and water?

We've stayed there several times.  There is a shopping plaza down the road (4 lane highway) with a Kmart and wine store.  There's also a gas station mini mart down the road.  It's definitely walkable but not "close" by any means.

Thank you very much.  I was wondering about the area and  if it was walkable since we are flying in and will not have our own car.

We had contacted the hotel, but still not convinced if this is an area where we would feel safe walking.  Information obtained from a hotel is different from what you can get from experienced travelers on CC.

Dania Beach does have a high crime rate, but remember, all cities and unincorporated areas are broken down into "reporting districts" Rd's.  A city usually has many Rd's where crime is tracked.  My point is that while Dania Beach may have a high overall crime rate, the rate may be high because of several Rds and not necessarily the area where you are staying.

 

You can always call the Broward Sheriff office for Dania Beach and ask them what the crime rate is around the Comfort Suites.

 

Another good question to ask the officer is would you recommend the area for your spouse and children to stay?😄
