happy cruzer Posted February 17, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2019 so I have read many days here and still have some quesitons: Are there sides available in the dining rooms? extra vegetables, baked potato, fries, mac and cheese? Can you order an entree as an appetizer? What about the ice cream at dinner? Is it made on the ship? What flavors? Do you get a bread basket with butter? lemon with water? Iced tea with refills? So in the buffet: Is there cook to order options? at breakfast, lunch, dinner? Fish and seafood cooked to order, even in a sandwich? Thanks in advance, these items are not shown on the menus. What else do you enjoy that is not on the menu?
gizfish Posted February 17, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2019 37 minutes ago, happy cruzer said: Here are 2 links that will give you some answers: https://eatsleepcruise.com/ http://www.beyondships.com/cruiseships.html Both those sites have menus that will give you an idea of what is available. The regular dinner menus all have a variety of starters including appetizers, salads and soups. The main courses always come with sides, but the portions of veggies are not that big, so you can ask for a plate of extra veggies. There is a section on the menu each night of "classics" which are available every night in addition to the offerings that change nightly. I believe a baked potato is one of them. If it isn't, you can ask for one each night, since potatoes are a kitchen staple. The children's menu has fries, not sure about mac and cheese. But adults can order from the kid's menu if they want. Ordering an entrée as an appetizer won't really work because they will bring you the regular sized portion no matter how much you tell them you just want a little. You can order as many different items as you want in each section of the menu in the main dining room. Not sure if the ice cream is made on the ship. They have the usual flavors, vanilla and chocolate as well as a sorbet or sherbet, and usually have a special flavor each night. They also have a larger selection of different flavors of hard ice cream available at the buffet. You get a bread basket and butter, and the selections of bread changes nightly. You can certainly get lemon for your water, and iced tea is included as a drink with dinner. Soda or liquor and specialty coffees are not included. The buffet at breakfast may have some cooked to order eggs. Lunch and dinner do not have cooked to order, but there is a carving station that changes each day. There is also a sandwich selection at lunch. There may be seafood entrees at the buffet from night to night, but there is usually one night that is a designated seafood theme which will have a larger selection.
