Cruises to Amazon

We really want to cruise the Amazon and thought we had found the perfect cruise on Oceania from Rio to Manaus for spring of 2007 but it seems they have cancelled this itin. So my question is has anyone found cruises that go up the Amazon for the spring of 2007 with any cruise line??? I know Princess will probably have at least one sailing but is there any others!!

The Fred Olson cruiseline does this trip with her ship the Breamar in february 2007. We are doing this cruise in 2006.

Thanks but I looked on Fred Olsen web site and none of the ships go up the Amazon to Manaus in 2007.

Geertje, I think I finally found what I was looking for but it's in the higher end ships, Silversea or Seabourn and not till Nov. 07.

Cathi, the Breamar from the Fred Olson cruiseline leaves the harbour of Bridgetown in Barbados the first of march 2007 for a round trip to Manaus. We wil do this the 16e of february this year. When we are back (march the 4) you can ask me any questin. Greetings Geertje

We just returned from a 13 day Amazon on Radisson's Mariner. It was wonderful. The Amazon was more than we expected. This is not a run-of-the-mill destination and we enjoyed every day.

I recommend you consider it.

We are going on Crystal this year. Will let you know when we get back how it is. We almost always cruise on Crystal. Glad to hear the Amazon was a good experience. joyous

My parents will actually be in Manaus (the capital city in Amazonas) tomorrow, I'll ask them to ask their friends if they know of any great deals or good cruises through there. They will be in Brazil for 7 weeks. Will post again when I hear something

We are going on HAL's Veendam in September this year and my sister is going on HAL's Prinsendam in April. I am sure they will repeat both these cruises in 2007.
