Barcelona Hotels and Transportation From Airport

Recommended Posts

I am planing to cruise out of Barcelona on Nov. 3 on the Brilliance of the Seas. I need some recommendations as to hotels near the cruise terminal and airport transport to the hotels.  Any other information or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.  First time traveling to Spain. Thanks

A lot depends on your budget.   There are some cheap hostels (with private facilities) near the port.  I stayed in Hostal Barcelona last year.  It was VERY basic but clean and I could walk to the port in the morning, picking up the Port bus to take me to the terminal.

I personally prefer to save as much as possible on travel costs, so I use the Airport Aerobus for a few Euros, which drops you off in Central Barcelona.  This year I have managed to book a low cost hotel very near Placa de Catalunya so just a few minutes walk from the bus drop off.   Then in the morning I will get a taxi down to the port which I understand is fairly cheap.

I found this website very helpful with the travel options

Check the various hotel comparison websites for accommodation to suit your preferred location and budget.

Aerobus runs every 5 minutes during peak times and is 5.90€ one way. We stayed at Hotel Granvia which was a 5 minute walk from plaza Catalunya. Taxi to the port was less than 20€ but gave him the 20.

  • 3 weeks later...

When I went in October, 2016, I used Barcelona Day Tours for my airport transfer and several tours (pre-cruise). I was extremely pleased.  I would highly recommend them.

I had SPG Points so stayed in the "business" district.  Out of the way, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend it because of location. I would stay somewhere near Las Ramblas.
