Fishkillbill Posted March 4, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2019 If I book an excursion, through Celebrity, and decide not to go, (pouring rain, or whatever), can I cancel and get my money back ?
Rare cruisestitch Posted March 4, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2019 There is a deadline for cancellations -- so if you wake in the morning to pouring rain and try to cancel at that moment, you will be out of luck. Most shore excursions go rain or shine. If Celebrity decides to cancel the excursion, they refund your money.
wendychloecruiser Posted March 4, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2019 You can make your cancellations and get your money back as long as it’s greater than 24 hours before the tour is scheduled.
Iamthesea Posted March 4, 2019 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2019 Very difficult to do once on board. They go rain or shine. We have been successful only in changing a tour to another type of tour on the day of embarkation.
Fishkillbill Posted March 4, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted March 4, 2019 So, I guess I should keep a good eye on the weather right before the cruise.
GoodScout Posted March 7, 2019 #6 Share Posted March 7, 2019 Only weather situation that will cause or allow for a cancellation is wind. We had a St. Bart's excursion booked, and high winds kept the ferry/tender from running. We were fully refunded less than an hour after they let us know it was cancelled. Tahina cruising Posted March 7, 2019 #7 Share Posted March 7, 2019 We had a beach excursion booked for Grand Cayman but it was pouring rain and storming 2 hours beforehand. We tried to cancel it and they said we wouldn't get our money back unless they cancelled the excursion. This was 2 hours before though. Try to make a decision early enough to be able to get your money back. Our excursion must have ended up being cancelled because that amount was credited to our account. frteach Posted March 9, 2019 #8 Share Posted March 9, 2019 We cancelled one on our last Hawaii cruise, after talking to people at dinner about it. They had done it on day 1 of an overnight, and we were scheduled to do it on day 2. It was about 12 hours until the tour was going to begin. We had heard that it was a bit too strenuous for us, with rocky stream crossings and slippery mud. There was no problem getting a refund.
