I would have posted this on Alaska forum but not much activity there. Trying to decide on which tour company to use in Skagway for Yukon/Bennett Lake tour. CelebrityYukon Adventure, Chilkoot Yukon Rail & Bus excursion , Frontier Excursions Yukon Discovery tour or Dyea Dave Emerald Lake tour . All similar in price, just thought if anyone had experience with these companies and those particular tours. We will be on Eclipse May 2019.

We did the Frontier Excursions Yukon Discovery Tour  last summer and loved it.  We were transported in a comfortable vehicle with an excellent driver/guide.  We stopped for many photos and had lunch in the Yukon.  Spectacular scenery and a different climate from the port.  The tour was 6.5 hours.   Highly recommended.

We did the Dyea Dave Emerald Lake tour in May 2017.   They provided a small comfortable bus and made many stops for viewing and pictures.  We had a stop for lunch before going on to Emerald Lake.  We were very lucky to see a black bear on our way up to Emerald Lake and a Grizzly on the way back.  He stopped the bus and stayed in the area until the bears were out of sight.

Another vote for Dyea Dave.  He made arrangements for those wishing to ride the train in either direction, so people wishing to do so were happy.  There were many photo opportunities along the way and we never felt rushed.  He even pulled over for us to get a shot of the train coming along the tracks and knew just when we should take the picture. We covered a lot of territory and felt we really got our money’s worth. The tour took us farther than you can go on the train He was a wealth of knowledge and funny which made for an enjoyable day.

We did the Yukon Discovery Tour with Frontier Excursions.  Our only disappointment was that they did not stop at the desert for a short photo op.  Everything else was great.  We did the train the 1st time in Alaska, which we enjoyed, but we did not want to repeat it.
