tjevans Posted April 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2004 Is the ice tea onboard brewed or is it nestea? Like any good southerner, I won't drink nestea. <applet code="countdown.class" CODEBASE="http://*************/java-sys" width="203" height="25"> <param name="font" value="lcdb0"> <param name="year" value=2004> <param name="month" value=4> <param name="day" value=18> <param name="hour" value=18> </applet> Carnival Conquest 4/18/

Cruising89143 Posted April 10, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2004 The tea is not brewed. It comes out of a machine. I have watched the waiters fill the tea pitchers on the Glory straight from the dispenser. Rare finoky Posted April 10, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2004 It has a slightly different taste than what you may be accustomed to. It is hard to explain. I happen to love the tea that you can get in the dining room and have it every night. What I do up on lido deck is give the glass a shot of lemonade before filling the rest with tea. Yummy! deborahjo Posted April 10, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 10, 2004 I loved the iced tea on the Paradise. It was really good. I will not drink Nestea either.
stlrboo Posted April 10, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 10, 2004 I am by no means a rocket scientist, but I'm guessing the 'iced tea' comes in a box in syrup form (in a bag inside the box), and is dispensed the same as pop or soda! It's really the least expensive way to do it, and most bars/taverns in this area use this system. And it is really pretty good!! I've never seen pitchers of 'iced tea' being brewed in the sun onboard ship which is my favorite!! mnsawyer Posted April 11, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 11, 2004 We were on the Triumph in March 2003 and the iced tea was unsweetened...basically brewed tea and you add your own sugar or whatever. Am sure it's much easier to go with unsweetened and then everyone can add or not add their sugar, lemon, etc. I drank it often and found it to be fine. SheSailsFL Posted April 11, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 11, 2004 The tea on Carnival is not great. It is commercially made in large machines - not freshly brewed. I found that if I mix it with about 1/3 lemondade, it made a nice refreshing drink and took away the bitter tea taste. Happy Sailing!
