kapcruiser Posted April 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2004 Has anyone ever gone to Caye Caulker in Belize. If so, how was the water taxi? I would like to know the good and the bad. SUSANITA Posted April 10, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2004 Yes, I've been to Caye Caulker in Belize, it is a very quaint, special little island. The water taxi ride was quite long, about 40 mins or so, but peaceful and scenic. Spending 40 mins on a water taxi in the middle of paradise really isn't all that bad. I was only in a small area of the island, near where the water taxis dock, but we had lunch at a great restaurant there that had wonderful specialty dishes. I enjoyed the short time we had there, and would most definately like to go back sometime and explore the island more. robbyxoxo Posted April 11, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 11, 2004 ..Kap...u literally can just about throw a rock from one side of the island to the other ....ok, maybe if u had the arm of Roger Clemens......so finding beach area isnt a prob....the entire island is pretty much BEACH...not like grand cayman beach, but still neato in its own way...where they drop u off with the water taxi is where ull find the majority of the action on the island....u can find snorkeling tours for as little as $15...hang a right and walk down to an area called the SPLIT, and ull find good eats and an area to swim and hang......most beach area isnt the best for swimming, as its a bit grassy and mushy......make sure u know ur water taxi schedule so that u dont miss the ship

deadbug Posted April 11, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 11, 2004 If you enjoy being very warm, complete solitude, no commercialism, a dirt road with no vehicle traffic, dogs sleeping in the road, fresh fruit sold off a table, did I mention it is very hot?, nothing to do but veg.....then you will enjoy caulkerscaye. The reef is a 2 minute boat ride. VERY laidback place. Carnivale, Elation, Facination, Destiny, Paradise, Legend
