Gitmo Posted March 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 16, 2019 We are hiring a driver and car while in Dublin. The ship docks at 0800. Any idea what time we are allowed to disembark? Thanks in advance.

Difficult to predict, as this will depend on where the ship arrives in Dublin from. In my experience, it is best to let the Car Service suggest a pick up time. They have done all of this before. KatieBelle Posted March 16, 2019 #5 Share Posted March 16, 2019 This was our experience May 2018. Ours was a TA with our first Irish port in Cork (Cobh). Your first Irish port being Dublin may be similar for you. Irish immigration boarded the ship and set up in Red Ginger. EVERYONE on board was required to present their passport in person and receive a pass to disembark. DH and I were early to the process, our friends a little later. The line got rather long but moved quickly and was quite painless. We did not do this at subsequent ports in Ireland. Not sure this will happen to you but suspect that it might. StanandJim are correct. Communicate with your tour operator. They want your business and know about all the ins and outs of meeting ships. Rare pinotlover Posted March 16, 2019 #8 Share Posted March 16, 2019 Quoting what happened in 2015 may as well have been 1815 when Ireland was part of England. Ancient anecdotal stories means zero! No one knows what the new drill or requirements will be post Brexit!! We’ll all learn together!
