Sapphire Princess/Diamond Princess Question

I was looking at pictures of three ships. The Grand Princess, Sapphire Princess, and the Diamond Princess. I noticed something about the Sapphire and Diamond that the Grand didn't have. The Sapphire and Diamond seem to have these jet engine or aircraft engine looking like things on them. The Grand Princess doesn't have them. They are up by where the exaust is vented out. What are these things and what is there purpose?

Those jets serve no purpose. Seriously. I've been on the Diamond once and Sapphire twice. A comedian in the past (Don Ware) had actually cracked jokes about those cool looking jets that don't do anything. Yes, they are cool looking, but they don't do anything.

The Grand and Crown Princess are sister ships, I think. Both are exactly the same... as are the Diamond and Sapphire. All are amazing ships.
