What is Cat. 9A, and Why Can't I Find it in the Brochures?

Here is a description I found for a 9A-

Cat: 9A Large Private balcony Stateroom, Large private balcony, twin beds convert to king, sofa, TV, shower.

A, #8235 on the Pride. I think the balcony was at least 60 sq ft. If you call Carnival and give them a room #, they can give you all the specifics. That's what I did with each room we considered. In the end, we changed to a category 11 with a 220 sq ft wraparound balcony. You may also want to look at this website for more info on rooms- http://cruisestateroom.ibelieveheis.com/ships.htm

Kathy

Average size: 250 square feet.

We originally booked a

On Decks: Verandah, Empress, Upper, Panorama

I don't know why some of my text jumped around. But, hopefully, you get the idea. It was #8235 that we originally booked that is a category 9A. The 9A's sounded great until I discovered the wraparounds. I submit a post asking if anyone had pictures of #8235, but no luck.

We were in a category 9A cabin on the Triumph and Glory. (both had a wrap around balcony) The cabins we had weren't much (if any) bigger than the category 8 cabins...however, the balcony was huge!! I think the layout of the category 9A cabins are different, dependent upon the location on the ship and the class of the ship. Some of the 9As don't have the wrap around balconies ...I think with those the cabin space is a bit bigger, but the balcony is smaller. (but still bigger than a cat. 8)

I have some pictures of our 9A cabins here:

9A Cabins

We had a suite on the Pride...the main difference between it and the 9A was that it had a tub, 2 tvs, 2vcrs, a bunch more bar glasses, we had priority boarding and the cabin was *much* bigger!!

Just back from Victory cruise...was upgraded to a category 9A... Wrap Around Balcony was huge... Provided a great view when in port and/or at Sea. Room was an odd size due to the corner, but plenty of room and closet space. We had room 8428. Only about 8 cabins in this category on the Victory. All are in the stern and on corners of each floor.

Until 4/4 Victory cruise
