T-shirts for the locals

This may seem like an odd question, but somewhere I read on one of these boards that it is possible to bring unwanted, excellent condition clothing to the local people of various islands, some of whom can be very poor. One man wrote in and said that he brought a bag of new t-shirts every time he went on a cruise, and I'd like to do that too. Unfortunately, I lost the address of that thread, and with it, all the information on how to do it. I work at a thrift shop that gets tons of new t-shirts with slogans, advertising, etc, that nobody buys. Would like to get some to some folks who might really be able to use them.

Can anyone help me?
