Rare l2f Posted March 31, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2019 Hello, Hope someone can help. First time sailing out of NOLA. Flying in day prior to cruise. Staying at Hampton Inn Convention Center. Need a place close by to buy wine, snacks like Granola bars, suntan lotion, and possibly a few personal items. We were hoping to have the taxi stop while driving us from MSY to hotel. Not sure what road a taxi would be taking 10 or 61. Saw Winn Dixie on Williams Blvd, (if using 10) or Airline Drive (if using 61). Some mention Cajun Market and Rouses. But not sure they sell the items we would be looking for. Thanks in Advance. L2F
jgmpuma Posted April 1, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2019 It would be worth your while to walk to the Rouse's at 701 Baronne Street, a few blocks from your hotel. It is a full-service grocery with a wide selection and good prices. Cajun Market is a convenience store, narrow selection and high prices.

It is about a 1 mile walk from the hotel to the Rouses on Baronne. It is a very good store. Easy enough to walk there and back or to cab/uber one way or both (depending on how much you buy and the weather).
Rare l2f Posted April 1, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted April 1, 2019 (edited) Thanks for replying jgmpuma and dctravel. Do you happen to know if they have a decent wine selection? This sounds like where we will need to stop. I would think a full service grocery store would have suntan lotion, and a good section of health/beauty products as well. Thanks again Edited April 1, 2019 by l2f
jgmpuma Posted April 2, 2019 #5 Share Posted April 2, 2019 They have all of the above.
Rare dctravel Posted April 2, 2019 #6 Share Posted April 2, 2019 Oh yes. That Rouse's has a very good selection. Should be able to get good quality screw top bottles there too.

fly2themoon Posted June 18, 2019 #8 Share Posted June 18, 2019 Rouse’s will have all the items you mentioned. It’s an interesting walk, too.
