Early Arrival into Barcelona: Taxi or Private Transfer

Taxis are available 24 hrs. Hardly any traffic at that hour so fare who have less "waiting in traffic" minutes

I figured it would not be as "crowded" at that time of the night.  However, my main concern is safety:  does it make it any difference if i booked a private transfer vs. Taxi?  Is it each to get a taxi at that time of the night?  Are they lined up outside baggage claim?

There is taxi rank in arrivals. And usually a person who manages taxi queue.

THank you!  I read that I have to 1 euro per luggage.  Do I need to pay for carryon as well?

Is there a fixed price from airport to city center?
