Wind Surf Grand Prix 14 day trip

Could anyone tell me how easy it is to do your own excusions. We will be visiting Nice, St. Tropez, Cannes, Corsica, Monte Carlo, Ponza Italy, Amalfi, Sorrento, Portovenere, and Portofino? We would rather plan our own things to do since we could see more of the sites.

 

When we are in France we will be renting a car to travel to the area outside the areas. Do we take tenders into these ports or do we dock at the ports?

We are on the same cruise.

I use Rick Steves 'Europe thru the Back Door' for walking guides, since most ports visited will be 'walkable'.

I wont even consider a car rental since public transportation is readily available in major ports and taxis on the islands.;)

Portovenere isno longer on the ship's scheduled stops...
