Anyone used New Horizons to snorkel St. Thomas St. John?

Recommended Posts

 Leaving on Voyager on 2/18/06. Have 8 at least in our party, not interested (too much) in shopping but want to snorkel economically in St. John. This org "NEW hORIZONS" takes more than the usual 6 that the other daysails do, discounts for online booking and kids but is pretty much all day and I haven't found out too much from the boards re: anyone else's wxperience with this group. Anyone? If not this route any suggestions for us? Thanks for any helpful hints!:)

Unfortunately, the New Horizons day sails leave too early from Red Hook in St. Thomas to accomodate cruise ship passengers. If you're looking to just snorkel in St. Johns, have you thought about just taking a ferry over and spending the day at Trunk Bay? It would probably be a lot cheaper in more convienent. Another route would be to charter a powerboat / sailboat from Red Hook for the day. Rates aren't too bad for a full day sail if you have 8 people. Check out http://www.conciergevi.com for more info. The prices include a captain and fuel charges usually, but just ask to make sure.

Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be glad to help out.

:) THANKS FOR THE INFO. FROM A REVIEW OF THE ST.THOMAS/ST.JOHN BOARD IT SOUNDED LIKE A LITTLE BIT OF A RISK/ EXPENSE GETTING TAXI TO FERRY/FERRY TO ST.JOHN/ANOTHER TAXI TO BEACH/FEES/SNORKEL EQUIP... AND THEN FIGHTING TIME ON THE WAY BACK. WAS HOPING TO FIND AN EASY WAY OUT. HOW FAR IS IT FROM WHERE SHIP DOCKS TO WHERE NEW HORIZONS OR ANY OF THE CHARTERS TAKE OFF? IS IT REALLY A PROBLEM TIME WISE? WOULD LOVE TO JUST GET SOMEONE TO TAKE THE WHOLE GROUP OUT TO SNORKEL IN ST. JOHN B/C THEY SAY IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL, DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A FULL DAY LIKE NEW HORIZONS BUT SO FAR ALL OF THE SAILS FROM ST. THOMAS ARE ON BOATS FOR ONLY 6. OH WELL, THANKS FOR THE HELP!
