grammyprf Posted April 18, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2019 It seems the port fees have gone way up...higher than the Caribbean. Anyone know why? So disappointing as we live one hour from Boston so no air.
nhquilter1 Posted April 18, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2019 Bermuda has always had some of the highest port fees. First time I cruised there (2007) we were told theirs were the highest.

Will be interesting to see if more people won't cruise to Bermuda making it harder for cruiselines to fill their ships!
AAAAmerican Posted April 19, 2019 #5 Share Posted April 19, 2019 People had Cruise Ships Daily to Bermuda (Somers Isles) but in actuality look what NYC, NY did then and now.. WOW such greed. These islands are the nicest in the world IMHO.

Will be interesting to see if more people won't cruise to Bermuda making it harder for cruiselines to fill their ships! The government is not only raising port taxes. They have raised other taxes in Bermuda. They have instituted a new sugar tax. Their goal is revenue to fund their budget. New buses were not purchased for years and as result a crisis, not enough buses and a reduced schedule. I don’t think they want another pier built. Raising port taxes is part of their overall government funding needs.
