davy jones Posted April 26, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2019 My adult DD is sailing with us. She is the 3rd person in our cabin. The 3rd passenger free was not available when we booked, so 3rd person fare was paid. She is now asking what would happen if a friend came along and they booked their own cabin. We have already made final payment, so cancellation is not an option. I don't want to call NCL yet because they won't commit to a change without knowing the costs involved. The current fares and taxes are easy to determine, but there are a few questions. What would NCL do in this situation? Would they credit the third person fare to the new cabin for her? We purchased an SDP package for her? Would that transfer over or is just easiest cancel her current package and purchase it again? Any other caveats? Rare All-ready2cruise Posted April 26, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2019 Since you're after final payment, this would be seen as a cancellation. While you'd get the SDP charges and the port fees & taxes and DSC (if prepaid) refunded, the fare itself would be lost.
Victress2007 Posted April 26, 2019 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2019 It doesn't cost anything to call and ask. I would consider it an upsell, not a cancellation. Vic

Vic That's my thinking, but NCL doesn't always think that way.
myra711 Posted April 26, 2019 #5 Share Posted April 26, 2019 I think that you can call NCL and ask your questions directly without committing to making the change. Hopefully, you will get someone who knows the answers!
JuneauWhatIMean Posted April 26, 2019 #6 Share Posted April 26, 2019 And if you don’t like the answer, call back and get someone else to answer your question. No two agents ever have the same answer. This is all based on the assumption that you didn’t use a travel agent. Good luck!
