pa.cruisers Posted January 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2006 :) We have booked the Napali Explorer on our X cruise in March. Looks like a great trip, after checking their we site. Has anyone done it recently and was it as good as it looks? We will be on the larger craft not the smaller zodiacs. Thanks if you can help Aloha,:D Pa. topograph Posted January 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2006 We've done the Explorer twice, and loved it both times. We live in hawaii, and do this tour whenever someone visits us for the first time- well worth it. But it is a wet ride if you sit in front! Flash4me Posted January 25, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2006 We did the excursion in January. First we snorkled at a reef and then got soaked exploring the Napali Coast. On the way back we saw many, many whales, even some breaching and flapping their fins. It was a great trip and well worth the cost. My only caution: you are likely to get wet soaked...so be prepared. southern guy Posted January 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2006 I have seen this excursion described as bouncy and not for someone prone to sea sickness. How would you rate it based on your experience? Also, we will be there in May, should this be a calmer time of year? Thanks:confused:
Flash4me Posted January 26, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2006 We had good size sea swells during our January trip, which made the big zodiac boat ride like a roller coaster, yet none of the 18 or so people got sea sick. They warn you at the dock about sea sickness and offer everyone one last chance to back out. Apparently it has been an issue in the past and the nature of the trip does not allow people to just "get off" the boat. My advice: if you really are really worried about sea sickness, then pick some other excursion. If sea sickness has never been an issue with you in the past then by all means go and have a great time.
