Drinking Water in China

digby

Recommended Posts

I know one should generally drink bottled water when out and about in China, but was wondering if it could be used from the tap in major 5 star hotels in Beijing and Hong Kong? Do they treat it enough to be safe to drink and use for ice?

Five star hotels will provide bottled water in the rooms. They usually give one bottle per person per day. It is advisable to use bottled water for drinking, brushing teeth, etc. It's not that the water is bad, but if you are from a different part of the world, your system will not be use to the water in Asia.
