Tendering in St Thomas??

Could someone please advise me if the QM2 actually docks in St Thomas or tenders in. We will be on the Dec 2nd cruise and I'm in the process of booking a fishing charter for part of that day for my husband's birthday present. I'd like to know how difficult it might be for him to get off in a timely fashion. The charter captain will pick him up there. I know this is early but we're just so excited about this trip and I don't want to try booking the charter too late and not get one for him. Thanks in advance for any input you experienced folks can offer. And in light of recent events, I'll just hope that port doesn't get cancelled or he might fish off the fantail!!!

we tendered into st thomas twice once the seas out side the bay were very rough.the rough seas didnot hamper time schedules but wheel chair and some handicapped pax were denied access to the tenders.
