Sim1979 Posted May 15, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2019 I'm trying to figure if it's worth trying to convince my girlfriend on doing the inaugural cruise of the new ship Encore (Nov 2nd 2019). I'm guessing since it's in november (colder) and since there is no stop (straight England to NewYork), that the cruise should be less crowded (and there should be less kids, so it should be easier to go karting). But appart from that, do you know if there is anything special going on during an "inaugural cruise", like i don't know, some kind of special celebration or activities? Rare www3traveler Posted May 15, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2019 I was on the Transatlantic Cross of The Getaway in January of 2014. It was like want the Encore will be doing, straight from Southampton to New York City. We have cold winds and rough seas for the first couple of days. That could possible with your cruise given that it is still during the hurricane season. People on The Getaway, Pearl, Jade and Epic all reported rough seas and cold temperatures for their crossings the past couple of weeks. The ship probably will not be completely full 2/3's maybe. With so many kids being home schooled and parents not caring about taking kids out of school, hard to say how many would be on your school. We had about dozen. We did not have anything "special" for this cruise. We had one Senior Corporate Officer on board and you very rarely saw him. Enjoy your cruise.
