MarkBearSF Posted May 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2019 (edited) While not a Cunard topic, per se, there have been so many questions for years about hotels near JFK for crossings (in short - there were no really good choices) - I thought this article on the new TWA Hotel, built around the iconic Eero Saarinen TWA terminal, might be of interest. (...Especially with intro room rates of $215/night.) https://www.sfgate.com/travel/article/TWA-Hotel-opens-JFK-13847867.php Edited May 16, 2019 by MarkBearSF
TheOldBear Posted May 16, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2019 I've been following a few stories about this over the past few months. I would consider the TWA Hotel New York's jet age counterpart to the Queen Mary in Long Beach.
Rare 3rdGenCunarder Posted May 16, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2019 The opening was covered on our local news last night. I hate flying out of JFK because it's a long drive compared to Newark, but I really want to stay in that hotel. Partly because I love to see "adaptive reuse" of buildings and partly because my very first flight to England was on TWA, departing from that terminal. seacruise9 Posted May 16, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 16, 2019 Hi, I have been following the development of this hotel and think it looks great. I don't usually fly into JFK, but I really want to stay here. I hope that this hotel is a huge success. Chuck
