Bignickpsu Posted May 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2019 On our upcoming cruise, we have Sitka as a port instead of Ketchikan and don't have much planned other than a walk around. We are looking to get some Alaskan seafood and already have a pretty full day booked in Juneau so we thought we'd try to look for it in Sitka. Any recommendations? Northern Aurora Posted May 16, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2019 While it isn't what I would call a seafood restaurant, the Bayview Pub in Sitka often has locally caught fish on the menu. We had a great lunch there last September -- our last meal in North America as the ship headed to Japan. Sitka is a lovely community, with nice options within walking distance of their "downtown." SuperCrewBear Posted May 17, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 17, 2019 It's been three years since I was in Sitka. I don't know if they are still there but while you're walking around watch for Ashmo's food truck. They had some fantastic Alaskan seafood items. They were parked in an empty lot about two blocks from St. Michael's Cathedral on Lincoln St. I had the Fish & Chips plus a Salmon Mac & Cheese - both were awesome! I hope they are still around the next time I'm there.
sherryf Posted May 18, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 18, 2019 I second the recommendation for Ashmo's!
