NCL Pearl and Tilbury

We dock in Tilbury for our 12 hour stay in England.  I originally was just going to have us putter around the town,  seeing a few sights, hitting a pub or two rather than take go to London.  However, it seems as if there is not much to do.  My TA mentioned taking the train to London.  Does anyone have any information about this, location of stations, proximities to any major sites?  We are 30 days out (June 22 sailing) and I don't have much time to research as much as I ordinarily would. (I also posted this on the British Isles link)

London from Tilbury is quite easy. I would certainly do it.

Tilbury Town station is about a mile from where I believe you will dock. Then a train to Fenchurch Street takes about 40 minutes. You are very close to the Tower/Tower Bridge, in the city, with St Paul’s about a mile away.

If you wanted to get to the West End then you would need to use the tube, but that doesn’t take too long.

Unlike so many of these ports (Southampton for London, Le Havre for Paris, Warnemunde for Berlin), Tilbury is actually a relatively easy access to the city.
