Someone told me that Holland America no longer has shows with singers and dancers in their entertainment line up, does anyone know if this is true.

On many of the ships this is true -- no production shows like we used to have.

They have signed on with an entertainment company called Step One Dance Company.  They provide the "show" kind of entertainment.  We were on board and saw the two shows which, for us, were quite a disappointment.  The Humanity show was o.k. but with canned music and no singing.  The other, I think was called Stages and we would have walked out but were seated in the middle of the theater and didn't want to disturb so many people if we left. I have read other reviews where people really liked the new show so I guess it is personal choice kind of thing.  Lincoln Stage plays classical music which had extremely talented people and was wonderful.  The Billboard on Board have two piano players.  We've been on several cruises and the chemistry and ability of the performers either makes it a hit or miss kind of performance.  Our last duo was a hit and the audience interaction was fun.  The Rock group was enjoyable on our last cruise but didn't seem to have a huge repertoire and BB King is just too loud for us (even using ear plugs).  Just like food, entertainment is subjective but there seems to be something for everyone's taste.
