I am confused with something. I have been reading that they don' t like you to bring alcohol onboard. My girlfriend has brought some home that was duty free. She told me it can be bought at port and be brought home. They only allow a certin amount but it was ok to bring it home. I want to buy some to bring home. Are they going to allow me to do that?

This is the official procedure and I´m not saying that there are no other ways of doing it even with the security knowing it.

Yes you are allowed to bring home duty free alcohol.

If you buy it ashore it will be taken at the gangway and stored for you by the ships personnel. On the last day they will deliver it to your cabin to take it home. Of course when entering the US / your home country you have to be in the allowed duty free limits or have to declare and pay for the exceeded.

If you buy onboard the procedure is almost the same. You purchase in the shop and get it delivered the last day.
