Jewel and Eastern Caribbean questions

My DH and I are looking to take our second cruise on the Jewel this December in the E. Caribbean. We love the whole freestyle dining idea as compared to other cruise lines...

I was wondering if anyone did this itinerary and how they liked it ( San Juan, St Johns Antigua, St Thomas and Great Stirrup Cay).

Are there quiet areas on the decks to get away from everyone? How are the bars in the evening? Busy? Is the cigarette smoke really noticeable? We found it not noticeable at all on Carnival except for in the bars (and I am allergic).

We are also noticing how much more the NCF charges are as compared to Carnival. Can anyone explain to me why this is?

TIA!! :D
