Princess Balcony Breakfast

Good day

Our first cruise ever, will be on Princess Northbound Glacier to Alaska in July. We are interested in booking a balcony breakfast. We ate considering two options:

1- first sea day out of Vacouver. It may be warm and calm seas and hence a good time.

2- day in Glacier Bay, this would be after 3 long port days. Might bel a good way to relax and enjoy the start of what we hope will be a spectacular day. Our cabin will be mid-aft starboard, if that makes a difference.

Your thoughts are welcome. What would you do?

We did the breakfast in Glacier Bay on our Honeymoon.  We ordered for around 10 to be sure we were in the bay.  It was wonderful!

Be aware that it may be a little chilly on your balcony while in Glacier Bay. Also, depending on the configuration of your balcony and location on the ship, it could be windy while under way. We did ours on a sea day, but we had an aft cabin, so wind wasn’t an issue.

They give you you enough food for 4 people, so we shared with friends. Enjoy your cruise and your balcony breakfast!

We chose to do ours on our Glacier Bay day and it was wonderful. We had some friends traveling with us, so we ordered it for the three of us staying in our cabin and then ordered a bunch of extra goodies from room service - fruit, croissants, pastries, etc. and we all joined together in our suite to share breakfast and enjoy Glacier Bay. It was lovely!

Unless it is important to you to pay before your cruise there is no need to pre-book the Deluxe Balcony Breakfast. There will be a hangtag in your cabin (separate from the one for regular room service breakfast) that you can just put out the night before. The DBB can never "sell out" as there is no maximum number served per day as there is for the Ultimate Balcony Dinner.

This may be overkill, but I would just like to add one more tidbit.

We have enjoyed the UBB twice on the Glacier Bay day of our last two AK cruises.  Both times were in a forward starboard balcony cabin.  In fact, both times were the same cabin--A201.   Also, both times were in the first week of May.  So, yes, it was a tad chilly on the balcony.  No problem.  We just set up inside the cabin next to the slider.  When we wanted to go outside to try to get a better view of something, we went outside.  Unlike the UBD, they do not bring a folding table when the UBB is delivered.  So, you do have to do some thinking on where to put things.  We used the little round table that is in the room and the top of the desk.  We could have used the little table that is out on the balcony, but, as I recall, we made it work without that.

Bon Voyage.  You're going to have a great cruise.
