Viking Ocean Cruises - what to do in Rome

Recommended Posts

We are booked on Viking Star, Italian Sojourn Cruise this August, 2019.

We will be docked in Rome for one day - but Viking doesn't offer any excursions for Rome.  Ship will be in port from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and port is about an hour's drive from the center of Rome.

Has anyone been on a Viking Ocean Cruise that stopped in Rome?  And if so, what did you do that day since Viking doesn't offer any ship's excursions?  Trying to decide if we need to book a Private Excursion that will pick us up at the Port that day.

You've mistakenly post this on the forum where people ask for help on how use the boards.

You'll be better served if you post either on the River Cruise forum:

or the Ports of Call forum:

Yes, Shmoo is correct. Please look at the top of this forum at https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/859-need-help-using-the-forums-check-here/ where you will see the following:

Also, please note the following portion of the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships:

... Browse Before You Post
Browse a topic first to see if your question has already been asked or answered by someone else. Also, many of the major cruise lines forums have a FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) topic that has been created by our members. Give that a try first. Browsing is your #1 best resource! Please post your messages in an appropriate topic so that you'll receive the best possible response. It is very time consuming to move misplaced messages that are in the wrong topics...

I sincerely hope this additional information will be helpful!

Happy sails,
