Kotor bike tour

Recommended Posts

Hi all, thinking about this bike tour in Kotor, anyone have any experience of it? Is it done at a fast pace? My normal cycling pace is 15-16mph. I can’t get a measure of distances on tour, does anyone know?

description is

Meeting location in front of the old town of Kotor.

45min - bike ride from Kotor to Trojica, a vertical climb of 310meters

20min - downhill bike ride from Trojica to Tivat

30min - short break in Tivat

1.5hr - bike ride from Tivat to Kotor via coastal road

We just did a stop their on the NCL Star, the port is at the end of a long narrow Fjord like area with mountains / hills on both sides.   On sail in and away clearly you can see a one  lane road on both sides going back up the coast line from both sides of the Fjord, but if you look on Google Maps looks like Trojica takes you into the hills on a road for a view instead of the along the coast., then back down on the other side, sounds cool!

I think the choice becomes do you want to see the view buy hiking the trail and oldwall to the fort on the top or biking it with the  thrill of riding down.      My family was an active group and we really enjoyed the hike up/back and dinner exploration of town.  If I had known about the bike I think we might have done that for what looks like similar view but fun of downhill, I guess on the decent you do get a little ride around to the other side of  coast.    Personally didn't find the town old trinket shots very interesting but the cat museum and kittens there were different, but the view and climb up was well worth it whether you do it by hike or bike.   As you can imagine that isn't a view many on the ships can/do make
