Late July Disturbance over the Bahamas

Keeping an eye on this one as conditions could be more favorable for development soon.

A second disturbance has appeared in the Inter-tropic Convergence Zone.  But both of these still have little chance of development.

Despite the alarmist reporting I saw on the NBC Nightly News, this disturbance, and the one coming in over the Atlantic are still both forecast with low chance to form a tropical cyclone at 10% and 20% respectively.  There is a slight chance or more favorable conditions several days from now.

The Bahamas disturbance is not expected to develop at all now.

 

The second disturbance coming in to the islands now has a 50% chance to develop into a tropical depression over 3-5 days.

I will start a new topic if this becomes tropical.
