Any ideas where a group of 10(4 families) could stay possibly close to pleasure pier? How close is pleasure pier to the carnival port?

The Island at its widest is 2 miles.

Pleasure Pier and Carnival Pier are at opposite ends of 25th St.  Not walking distance (long walk!), but a 5 minute drive.

The Wyndham Galvez Hotel is within walking distance of Pleasure Pier. It is one of the larger hotels in Galveston. I believe that they also offer hotel/pier/hotel shuttle service.
