Firepath Posted August 6, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2019 We will be on POA in Kona from 7:00am to 5:30pm. We have rented a car. I really, really want to go horseback riding at a ranch at the top of Kohala. They say the drive is 1 hour and 40 minutes. With the time required for tendering, waiting for a shuttle, and probably standing in line for a rental car (Enterprise) and finding our way to Kohala, would we have time to make it there for a 9:30am check in? Silver Sweethearts Posted August 6, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2019 If the drive is indeed 1 hour and 40 minutes and you have to be there by 9:30 a.m., the latest you could leave the rental agency is 7:50 a.m. That leaves you 50 minutes to get from the ship to being on the road with your car. Unless your activity is NCL sponsored, you will have to wait for a tender until NCL tours, suite guests and VIPs are accommodated. Add to that getting a shuttle and then renting the car and 50 minutes does not sound like enough time.
AlohaCathy Posted August 6, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 6, 2019 Unless you are in a suite where you get escorted off the ship when you want, you won’t have time sadly
Davebhoy Posted August 8, 2019 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2019 Think the earliest tenders are often unreserved, so it may be possible if you're ready to rock before the NCL trips are due to leave.
Firepath Posted August 8, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted August 8, 2019 Thanks everyone. We aren't going to chance it. May try on Kauai instead.
