Laurie12820 Posted January 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2006 We are cruising to Bermuda for our honeymoon and want to visit one of these. Where can I find one?
cruzobsessed Posted January 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2006 i could be mistaken but are the moongates those horseshoe shaped things that couples stand under for good luck? if so...there is one at the REEFS HOTEL where there just so happens to be one of the most romantic restaurants on the island COCONUTS. try to make reservations there. celbercrz333 Posted February 1, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2006 I believe we found one near the perfume factory. They are all over the place if you just look. Yes, they are the round cement or block type things you stand at for good luck.
Pleiades Posted February 2, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 2, 2006 Look about half way down the page at http://www.bermuda-online.org/traditions.htm for some info on Moongates. Quite a number of private houses have Moongates (originally they were gates into enclosed gardens). Almost all hotels will have one somewhere on the property; they are traditionally made of Bermuda limestone.

cruisingbug Posted February 23, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 23, 2006 There was one at the park in Hamilton, to the left of the docks (looking from the ship). I forget the name of the park, it was French sounding. It was behind the post office...
Pleiades Posted February 23, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 23, 2006 It’s called Par-la-Ville Park, and it apparently houses Bermuda’s oldest moongate. http://www.bermuda4u.com/Attractions/bermuda_attractions_par_la_ville_park.html
