lee-gold Posted January 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2006 We have booked an S Suite on the Ryndam next week. What, exactly, ARE the 'suite perks'? We've looked everywhere but can't seem to find them. Is there some sort of list?
HoneyGV Posted January 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2006 We have booked an S Suite on the Ryndam next week. What, exactly, ARE the 'suite perks'? We've looked everywhere but can't seem to find them. Is there some sort of list? Well, when you check in you get into a special line and they give you a gold star that marks you as an S/PH suite pax, that signals the white gloved escort to your suite. You are invited to use the Neptune lounge where you can enjoy capaccinos and other coffees and teas all day long, you get priority boarding and tendering, you get free laundry, drycleaning and pressing throughout your voyage, there's a special luncheon for suite pax (I believe that's still going on), you get the full dining room menu delivered to your suite each day. I'm sure there are more, but my less than perfect memory precludes me from mentioning more of them. I'm sure someone else will pick up from here.:)
elmorejj Posted January 30, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2006 There will be a cocktail party the first evening or next day usually in the Neptune lounge to meet the Capt and some of the senior officers. Corsages and bouteniers for the first formal night. A bottle of sparkling wine will be in your suite on arrival from the Capt and Hotel Manager...........
Spot Posted January 30, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2006 You will also get priority seating in the dining rooms (if you want a table for 2 or want a table by a window, etc), the Concierge in the Neptune Lounge will make most any desire a reality. In addition to the specialty coffees in the Neptune Lounge, there are also nibble foods throughout the day available. Of course your cabin is large and your verandah is more like a terrace that overlooks the sea with a large round table and four chairs along with two loungers and another small table between them. You will love your "S" Suite experience - Have a Great Cruise!!!
WNYCRUISER Posted January 30, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 30, 2006 You have to dig for the information. Actually, the closest I have been able to come to a "list" is actually located deep in the HAL website. Go to the HAL main page. Down at the bottom of the page, click on "For Media" On that page click on "Fact Sheets" On that page, you can click on "Stateroom Amenities" which has a listing of amenities in vaiour categories, including Suites, and you can also click on "Neptune Lounge Services" for a list of items that the concierge can handle for you. Hope this helps.
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 30, 2006 #6 Share Posted January 30, 2006 If you have a sea day first, the first suite coctail party will be at noon. Otherwise it will be at 7:30 PM the first evening you are on board. Your gold ID card is also your card to show for piority tendering - you won't need to get in line for a tender ticket unless you have signed up for a shore excursion. You will get personalized stationary. You will also get a boutonniere & corsage to wear the first formal evening. There will be a suite buffet - usually held in the Crow's Nest on the last sea day - either at 12 or 12:30.
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 30, 2006 #7 Share Posted January 30, 2006 There will also be a pair of binaculars and a big umbrella for your use. You will also have priority disembarkation. The Neptune Lounge has cold cereals, fresh fruits, meats, cheeses, pastries, juice, coffee and teas available for breakfast to eat there or take back to your cabin in you want to. From 11 - 5 they have small sandwiches, cookies, candies available to snack on. At 5 they put out some cold appetizers like carrots, olives, radishes, and a few other things. The Neptune Lounge opens at 7 on port days and 7:30 on sea days. It closes at 8:30. You will have 2 concierges who will take care of you during the day should want anything. They can even make reservations for you for the Pinnacle, drop off shore excursions, make change.

Rare Copper10-8 Posted January 30, 2006 #9 Share Posted January 30, 2006 Maybe they should make the suite pax pay for the capuccinos in the Neptune Lounge! ;) :) :D

peaches from georgia Posted January 30, 2006 #11 Share Posted January 30, 2006 Maybe they should make the suite pax pay for the capuccinos in the Neptune Lounge! ;) :) :D And definetely those that use cream in their coffee should be charged for those little individual cream thingys. Of course they will have to be used in the Dining Room instead of one silver cream pitcher for the entire table, as how else can those who use cream be monitored as to how much cream they are using so it can be added to their bill. They are tacky on a formal dining table, but so be it- can't let any pax get something free that some other pax may not use.
simon02 Posted February 1, 2006 #12 Share Posted February 1, 2006 On our last cruise in an "S" catagory, the DVD's were free to use. There is a book in the neptune lounge with a listing of all the movies that are available and they will be delivered to your suite. We also were given slippers to use in the evening in our suite. Your suite will have fresh flowers for your enjoyment. The Concierge’s go out of their way to make your trip most enjoyable.
