Whitier to Ancourage transfers from Island Princess

We are taking our first Alaska cruise. We disembark from the Island Princess in Whittier May 22, 2006. We thought of taking the Alaska RR to Ancourage but their schedule shows departure from Whittier at 6:16 PM--almost 12 hours after we disembark. Is there another train or is there a better option. Princess says their "train" is sold out,

good question, I've been trying to figure that out myself. I've found couple options:

limo service from whittier aklimo@acslaska.net will transport you for $35/person (too good to be true?)

another other option is the magic bus, about $55/person, may also leave late in day however.

I am curious about the limo service, has anyone ever taken it out of Whittier?

You might want to contact Tim at The Magic Bus. http://www.themagicbus.com. We were a group of 6 adults with a ton of luggage, and were able to book them for less than the cost of Princess train transfers, and got a tour from the time of pick up in Whittier (around 9 AM as memory serves) till 2:20 PM. Had a wonderful time. :)
