matt690 Posted January 31, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2006 For people who are familiar with the NCL Spirit... Does the spirit have a caribbean / reggae band by the pool? Is there a Mexican Restaurant (Salsa) on the Spirit? Also, what is the weather like on a 7 day Bahama cruise - will it most likely be hot for at least several of the 7 days? Is there a high percentage of docking at Great Stirrup Cay? I'm undecided on whether or not to book - hearing mixed reviews. Thanks! -Matt
Ginamarie Posted January 31, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2006 There is no Mexican restaurant on the Spirit. It has two main dining rooms (they have the same menu as each other each night), a pasta cafe (free, but requires reservations), a buffet, The Blue Lagoon (serves burgers, hot dogs, soup, noodles), and several specialty restaurants that require a fee (A Chinese restaurant, Le Bistro, a teppanaki grill, and a steak restaurant). As for the weather, it depends on what time of year you're leaving from NY. If you leave from October through about April, expect about a day and a half of cooler weather while you're sailing down the coast. During the late spring and summer, you should have warmer weather. The ship doesn't dock at Great Stirrup Cay. If you are able to stop there, you tender into the pier. I'm not sure how good the percentages are for ships being able to make GSC. delarda Posted January 31, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 31, 2006 When we were on the NCL Spirit Alaska cruise in 2004 we enjoyed every bit of it, except for the servers in the disco who didn't like waiting on anyone using a coke card. The pasta restaurant on that ship is excellent. We ate there every night because the food and the service was outstanding.
